My latest camera, the Panasonic Lumix G1, is most likely one of the most exiciting things to happen to digital SLR photography in a while.

It uses the micro two thirds standard, a standard created by Olympus and Panasonic for compact digital camera design and development intially but now also being used for a new range of DSLR cameras like the G1.

About Me
I'm Richard Gough and live and work in London. I joined the Royal Navy in 1975 and seventeen years later I left as a Chief Petty Officer (Missile). The ships which I served on took me around most of the world sparking a love of capturing people on my travels. The aim of my photography is to tell stories and capture my subjects in an informal pose, one that tells the real story. I am nothing more than an enthusiastic amateur, but it is a serious hobby that I love.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do, feedback is always good so my contact details are at the foot of this page if you need them.

My Books
In addition to my photography I have managed to put words on paper about my experiences in the Royal Navy. However these books are very limited in availability now but provided a good introduction to writing which I now use to support my photojournalist work.

My Photography Toolbox
I am very much a technical and gadget geek and although I try not to let this get in the way of my photography, it sometimes does. I currently use a Leica M8 as my main camera. This is complemented by a Panasonic Lumix G1 DSLR. Post digital work is done on an Apple 20" iMac using a combination of Aperture and Photoshop. My printing is normally done by Photobox or at home on a Canon MP620 Photo printer.
